Medicare Supplement
Medicare Supplement (also known as Medigap) plans fill gaps that Original Medicare doesn't cover.
Medicare Supplement plans cover the following benefits:
- Medicare Part A coinsurance costs up to an additional 365 days after Original Medicare benefits are exhausted
- Medicare Part A hospice care coinsurance or copayments
- Medicare Part B coinsurance or copayments
- First 3 pints of blood used in a medical procedure
Medicare Supplement plans don't cover:
- Vision
- Dental
- Long-term Care
- Hearing Aids
Medicare Supplement Costs
Some private insurance companies charge higher monthly premiums and yearly deductibles, but all are legally required to offer the same benefits for each plan.
